About Tam

Hello, I am Tam your personal coach, cheerleader, and concierge through the always changing world known as the World Wide Web and the Internet.

I have been working and have been what I call a hybrid entrepreneur (some traditional work blended with entrepreneurial endeavors) because I’m passionate about multiple streams of income (they’ve saved my bacon more than once over time to have more than one source of income). I’ve been burned by scams and have had my identity hacked and commandeered so believe me when I say I know why it’s important to learn and be savvy in self-employment particularly online work.

I really had no experience.

I had no help.

no help

I tried to watch others as  I could and learn.

watch others and learn

“There was one thing I did have persistance and thinking a BIG DREAM.”

The economy tanked in 2008 and I knew I had to make some radical changes. One of them was deciding to go back to school and get a degree to improve myself professionally in the world. I was honored with scholarships and grants but I also racked up student loans and needed to sort out how to pay them back while in school and after I graduated.

There is shorter list of the industries I haven’t worked as opposed to those I have worked to make a living. I’m on a journey to create a life beyond my wildest dreams and am deeply committed to help others achieve their dreams.

If you would like to join me within Wealthy Affiliate, you can register here  to create your free Starter membership. This is where I can network with others and offer my help each and every day to people like you.

I work very I hard and I’m striving towards a better balance in my life. I enjoy choosing how to spend my days as I want. In my spare time you might find me:

  1. Serving to help in developing countries such as Kenyarural Kenya (This collection of books serves 98,000 people in remote western Kenya)
  2. Traveling (whenever I can…my last trip was to St. Louis and last year was to Kenya)
  3. Outdoor sports…I love hiking, biking, snowshoeing and more
  4. Exercising
  5. Reading, and being social online and face to face
    reading book

This is my life. A journey towards what I hope to be an ideal or simple life that is also exciting and a joy. I work full time and work from home and currently am a student in graduate school. The entire goal of my site here is to help you do the same with the goals and dreams that you have (as well as to avoid the boatload full of scams out there).

Again, I am Tam. It’s great to meet you and if you’d like feel free to contact me if you ever need anything. Drop a comment to me below and you can also get in touch by shooting me an email at tam@selfemploymentsavvy.com.

    Hello Tam.
You have here a nice and engaging profile. A lot people can relate to you because so many students are struggling with their debts. Other people would like to escape rat race at their jobs.
I wonder what do you do in Kenya? Do you have non-profit organization or do you work as volunteer? When you help people, you enrich your life. I think that promoting Wealthy Affiliate in your website, you will give opportunity to your visitors change their lives in a positive way.
What can be better compare with freedom? The freedom from debt, worries and boss is a best gift for ourselves and our families.
Keep up good work, all the best, happy writing, Nemira.

    • Thanks, Nemira!

I appreciate your feedback. I am working and helping others in an effort to fully launch an NGO (nongovernmental organization/non profit) with a Kenyan colleague to have Kenyans help Kenyans.

Learning how to navigate student loan forgiveness programs or to find options to wipe out student loans can help current and future students.

      Thanks again, Nemira!

      Cheers to you, too!

    Hi Tam,

I can relate with your story as I too I’m trying to become self employed. I’ve been a nurse for less than a decade, but the crazy shifts and lack of time to enjoy my family have made me want to explore other options. I can’t wait to learn more about how you’ve achieved your goal and get inspired!

    Thanks again!
